LIVERSEDGE bowed out of the Northern Alliance League Cup in an enthralling quarter-final clash at Clayborn on Tuesday.
Liversedge had reached the last eight by beating Brodsworth 5-3 on November 24, while their last league match saw them draw 6-6 with Brighouse Town.
Tuesday's quarter-final was Liversedge's first match in more than seven weeks and Albion took advantage to race into a 2-0 lead inside 13 minutes.
Edward Walmsley pulled one back before David Pearson levelled after 17 minutes.
Callum Armstrong put Liversedge ahead following a lovely turn and shot and the home side led 3-2 at half-time.
Albion equalised a minute into the second half and then took a 4-3 lead soon after but two Armstrong penalties after 58 and 60 minutes put the home side back in front.
Liversedge were unable to sustain their advantage though as Albion scored after 77, 81 and 86 minutes to reach the semi-finals.
Liversedge Under-19s are back in league action on Thursday as they host Brighouse Town (7.45pm).
