Liversedge 1
Armthorpe Welfare 4
LIVERSEDGE suffered defeat against Northern Counties East League Premier Division title chasers Armthorpe Welfare on Tuesday.
Second placed Armthorpe took the lead after just two minutes when James Walker's cross-shot floated in.
The front two of Liam Hardy and Bruno Holden caused Liversedge problems all night, with centre back Alan Jordan saying it was his toughest game of the season.
Hardy doubled Welfare's lead after 29 minutes and although it remained 2-0 at half-time, Liversedge pulled one back straight after the re-start when Andy Philps latched into Jordan's ball over the top and drilled home.
However, despite Brook Newton and Jamie Wasley working hard for Liversedge, Armthorpe showed their class late on and further goals from Craig Fletcher and Jack Debnam saw them complete a third win of the season over the Clayborners.
Liversedge: Wilkinson, Haigh, Larkin (Cavanagh 85), Jordan, Springer, Birchall (L Ryan 85), Hardy, Etienne, Wasley, Newton, Philps (Lawlor 75).
