TOG 24, one of the leading UK snowsports clothing manufacturer is backing freestyle skier and Olympic hopeful James Machon.
The Heckmondwike firm has provided valuable support to Mr Machon, who finished 17th at the 2009 World Championships in Japan and has set his sights on a top ten world ranking for the 2009/10 season.
The 18-year-old has been given more than£2,000 worth of snowsport clothing as he sets off on a four-month training camp to the US, where he is hoping to break into the world top 10, after which he will compete at both the World Cup and European Open.
He was introduced to the company by Tom Rumboll, a director at Lloyds TSB in Sheffield.
Mr Machon said: "I'm delighted to get the introduction to TOG 24 through Lloyds TSB Local Heroes.
"Their support will help me keep costs down while I train for the winter Olympics.
"I think their designs and product quality are great and I'm looking forward to wearing the gear this coming season."
TOG 24 designs and retails high quality specialist skiing, walking and outdoor clothing, with 50 retail stores in the UK.
The firm is currently in the process of creating a clothing range which will bear James's name as part of a James Machon line, to further raise his profile.
Marketing director Chris Ward said: "James is exactly the type of aspiring Olympian we like to be associated with.
"We are delighted to offer our support and believe that James will provide us with invaluable feedback on the performance of our gear in exactly the conditions it is designed for."
As Lloyds TSB is one of main sponsors of London 2012, it has a programme in place to support athletes at grass roots level and help promising youngsters fulfil their dreams of competing in the London 2012 Olympics.
Lloyds TSB Local Heroes have been chosen for their talent, ability, dedication and their potential and are provided with an annual contribution of £1,000 to pay for necessities such as travel, accommodation and equipment to help promising athletes.
