KIRKLEES Council has been named among the country's best employers.
Stonewall, the lesbian, gay and bisexual charity, has named the council in its top 100 despite fierce competition from employers around the country.

Council leader Mehboob Khan said: "All employers, whether in the private or public sector, have a responsibility to improve and develop working practices and ensure there is equality for all.

"We are delighted that our work has been honoured and that national recognition has put us in a position to share our good practice with other organisations."
