STAR pupils from the PM Gibson School of Dance have been celebrating their success.
The dance school in Hartshead Moor is home to a number of gifted performers, including 11-year-old Charlotte Copley who has been offered a place at the prestigious Northern Ballet Theatre in Leeds, Laura Waley who has been offered a place on the NBT's summer school and Sarah Todd who has been accepted on to the NBT's associate programme and the summer school.

Lydia Tonge and Sian Wormald have both been recommended for scholarships at the International Dance Teachers' Association (IDTA) in Manchester, gaining 90 marks in the intermediate theatre craft exam, which dance teacher Philippa Gibson said was an excellent achievement.

"All the girls have done exceptionally well and I am extremely proud of them all," said Ms Gibson.

"They have to have something special to get into the NBT and be recognised by the school, as dancers from all over the country audition to get a place.

"It's such lovely experience for the girls to have."
