CHILDREN have been learning all about roller hockey during out-of-school sessions at Whitcliffe Mount Sports Centre.
And England roller hockey coach Carlos Amaral was on hand every afternoon last week to help the youngsters with their skills prior to the official launch of the Whitcliffe Mount Roller Hockey Academy at the weekend.
Ex-Whitcliffe pupil Dan Messenger, who set up the academy, said: "The after-school sessions have been really well attended. Carlos has also been working with the children in their PE lessons and has probably seen about 700 pupils."

Dan said: "The idea is to create a roller hockey centre of excellence for the North of England." For more information visit www.wmrha.co.uk.
