HIGH Bank pupils enjoyed a bit of horsing around during a visit by Pretty in Pink Pony Parties.
The group was set up earlier this year by Rachel Wilson and Helen Walsh of Norwood, near Halifax, with the idea of letting children look after and ride ponies at parties, galas and schools.

Two of the ponies, Teddy and Goldie – both Shetlands – came along to the Windy Bank School and enjoyed being fussed over and pampered by the pupils.

Learning mentor Kimberley Bohanna said: "They absolutely loved it!

"The early years pupils are learning about farm animals and we wanted them to experience animals other than pets.

"They groomed the ponies, learned all about bridles and saddles and then all got the chance to ride on them around the playground.

"The ponies were so soft and gentle and looked as though they were enjoying it as much as the pupils were."
