NAVIGATING through shark infested waters and dressing as pirates all added up to a fun-packed maths week at Leeside Community Primary School.
The theme of the week was pirates and the children had lots of fun making co-ordinate treasure maps and investigating pirate problems.

They worked with other classes on a variety of activities including navigating each other from their sinking ship through shark and crocodile infested water to the island of safety using directional language only.

In addition they took up a homework challenge of making pirate hats with numbers and designing their own pirate top trump cards.

The week's activities culminated in a fancy dress day with prizes for the best presented at a pirate assembly.
