Slippery slope for roadworks

I was surprised to see the item on the roadworks pending on Bradford Road, Littletown, in last week’s Spenborough Guardian, and have obviously missed any information building up to this

I certainly agree with any necessary improvements to the crossing and the tactile paving, and also repairing the road services, which are a disaster all over the area.

I do however think that the removal of the sliplanes is a backward step, and an unnecessary cost. The sliplanes do smooth the flow of traffic as well as helping with better visibility for drivers, thus adding to road safety.

Would it not have been more sense to save the funds involved in re-modelling the junction and used them for funding the Red House Museum for a few more years.
