Tell us more about Holy Spirit Church in Heckmondwike

AM researching the history of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Heckmondwike for our centenary in 2014.

Before the present church was built in 1914, Mass was served in a number of private houses; one in Brighton Street and also what is now the RAFA Club in Darley Street.

The early priests were believed to have lived in Brighton Terrace and St James Street.

If any readers from the Spen Valley, Dewsbury or Batley can provide details of any other homes or place of worship for the Catholic community before 1914 please contact me on petermoreland@hotmail.com or telephone 01924 501774.

Also does any one know where Brighton Terrace was?
