LAST week residents of Reform Street in Gomersal were shocked to see refuse collectors emptying both the grey (general waste) and the green (recycle waste) into the same refuse lorry.
Based on the fact there may have been a back log of bin collections due to the bad weather, this could be sort of an unethical excuse.......

Then on January 20, to the disgust of residents of Reform Street, again refuse collectors once again emptied both green (recycled) and grey (general house waste) into the same refuse lorry again.

There cannot be any excuse for Kirklees to be disposing of recyclable waste in land fill, when Kirklees council tax payers have sorted the house hold waste into the two separate bins.

Kirklees has a clean policy relating to the green bins stating that if a resident contaminates the recycle bin with incorrect waste, the bin can be removed by the council.

Could Kirklees clarify why it is asking residents to sort their household waste only to have refuse collectors to combine the waste on collection?
