I WAS disappointed to read in last week's Spenborough Guardian that the Spen Pool cafe has been closed.
I wonder how much this decision ties in with the coalition government's announcement to scrap free swimming sessions for the under 16s and over
60s by the end of this month?

The Labour government introduced these free sessions as part of its efforts to promote the benefits of a healthy lifestyle and should be encouraged.
