Generation game for father and daughter

editorial image

Folk singer song-writer Kathryn Tickell will be accompanied by three generations of musicians - including her father – when she comes to the Lawrence Batley Theatre this month.

Kathryn’s show, Northumbrian Voices, is at the Huddersfield venue on Wednesday September 19, and is performed by a six-strong cast who will interweave songs, tunes and spoken word narrative.

She is the foremost exponent of the Northumbrian pipes, a composer, performer and successful recording artist whose work is deeply rooted in the landscape and people of Northumbria.

Through her nearly 30-year career to date Kathryn has collaborated with Sting, The Chieftains, Penguin Café Orchestra, Evelyn Glennie and Andy Sheppard, but Northumbrian Voices allows her to work with someone a lot more close to home– her father, Mike, who joins her on stage for the show.

Tickets for the show are £16, concessions £14.

To book contact the theatre Box Office on 01484 430528 or book online at www.thelbt.org.
