Police are appealing for help following a ‘particularly nasty’ assault on a bus passenger.

The attack took place on the 268 bus at the Swan traffic lights in Liversedge at around 12.35pm on Monday October 7.

A police spokesman said: “The victim, a 64-year-old man was repeatedly punched near the back seat of the bus.

The man police are looking for is white and in his 40s, 5ft 8ins-10ins tall, slim and of fit appearance. He has short ginger hair, and wore blue jeans and a dark t-shirt.

The spokesman added: “It is understood that several members of the public were present and witnessed the assault, and at least one member of the public intervened, coming to the victim’s assistance.
