Countdown to Leeds Festival is on

THE countdown is on and with only one week to go until Leeds Festival, music lovers are gearing up for the biggest event of the festival calendar.
Organisers Festival Republic have once again upped the ante with a fantastic line-up which is sure to please the thousands of revellers who will descend on Bramham Park for the bank holiday bash.

Roberttown lad Lukas Wooller and his band Maximo Park are to appear on the main stage when the three day festival kicks off next Friday, with the Arctic Monkeys headlining.

Ian Brown, The Courteeners and Beth Ditto's The Gossip will also play on Friday.

On Saturday, headliners Radiohead are set to pull in the crowds, with other highlights being Bloc Party, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Vampire Weekend, The View, Lostprophets and new dance act DEADMAU5.

Rounding off the festival on the Sunday are headliners, Brit award winning Kings of Leon, with Leeds's own Kaiser Chiefs also playing the main stage.

Performances will also come from Placebo, Fall Out Boy, Deftones, Florence and the Machine, Jamie T, Friendly Fires Little Boots and Jack Penate.
