New funeral home dedicated

CIVIC dignitaries attended a dedication service at a new funeral home in Birkenshaw.
The service was held at the Gateway Funeral Services of Southfield Terrace, Birkenshaw.

Funeral directors Janice Hutton and Richard Arnold,were delighted to welcome the Mayor of Kirklees, Coun Julie Stewart-Turner, along with Sue Saville, president of the National Association of Funeral Directors, and Ken Satterly president of the British Institute of Funeral Directors who helped the mayor unveil a commemorative plaque.

The service was conducted by the Rev Martin Lowles, assisted by local clergy, and attended by 40 family and friends.

The premises have been completely refurbished to make a reception area, family arranging room and a chapel for 25 -30 people.
