FOR regulars at the Walker's Arms in Scholes it's good to think pink.
Especially when they can raise more than £300 for breast cancer research by holding a fun-packed night with everyone wearing pink.

Landlords Judith and Tony Wadsworth held the fundraiser at the pub, on Scholes Lane, and everyone threw their weight
behind it.

They held a charity raffle and tombola, with local businesses Colin’s Butchers, Blues Fish Bar and hardware store Vasi, all donating items .

Karen Cooling and Linda Burnett, from Salon 6, in Cleckheaton, also gave raffle prizes.

The evening was a big success and Tony and Judith were grateful for everyone’s support – especially one regular whose own contribution was a bit of a close shave.

Judith said: “We want to thank everyone for making it such a good night and for donating so much. We raised £308 for a good cause, which is fantastic.

“We also thank Richard Kay for shaving off his moustache and raising £50 in the process. Everyone thought he was born with his moustache!”

lA CHARITY concert in aid of breast cancer will be held in Cleckheaton.

The concert, featuring local artist Paul Rodgers, will be at Moorend WMC, Victoria Street, Cleckheaton, on Friday December 4, starting at 8pm.

Admission is free and there will be raffles to raise funds.

Donations of raffle prizes will be gratefully received. Please call Dawn Rodgers on 01274 861320.
