SPEN businesses are gearing up for their major showcase event of the year.
Organised by the Spenborough Chamber of Trade and Town Centre management, Spen Valley Expo 2009 will be held on Thursday October 29, at the Gomersal Park Hotel.

Now in its fifth year, the Expo gives Spen residents the chance to see what is on reta
il offer in the valley before the run-up to Christmas.

It will be held in the Oakwell Suite at the Gomersal Park Hotel, starting at 6pm, and 24 local businesses will showcase their products before a fashion show and two-course dinner.

Entry to see the stands is free, but visitors will need to purchase a ticket for £14 to see the fashion show and enjoy dinner in the Cromwell Suite.

The fashion show is arranged with Cleckheaton's After Dark in Brooklyn Court and supported by the town's newcomers, Purple, in the Albion Street precinct (formerly Bolero).

Businesses showcasing on the night are: Morley Jewellers, PJ's Health and Fitness, Dolly Char, Kirkwood Hospice, Junction 26 Beds, Body and Soul, Green Health Shop, Slator's Electrical, Salindras Florists, Virgin Vie, Cleckheaton Folk Festival, Surestart, Cleckheaton Nursery, Wired Hairdressing, Body Beautiful, Kirklees Museums and Galleries, the New Charnwood, Brearley's Solicitors, the Gomersal Park Hotel, Design 24, Titan House and Peppermint Pig.

Chamber president Keith Joplin, organiser of the event, said. "This is a great way to see some of Spen's retailers and businesses all under on roof, see some fabulous fashion, enjoy a wonderful meal and generally have a great night out."

To see jewellery, gifts for all the family, the latest electrical gadgets, beauty makeovers, floral demonstrations, healthy living, getting fit and more, buy tickets at just £14 each from any of the businesses listed.
