A DIET counsellor is urging people to check how healthy they are and raise money for charity at the same time.
LighterLife counsellor for Mirfield, Spen and Brighouse Judith Shaw is backing BMI 4 Life Fortnight – a campaign to highlight the life-and-death importance of the Body Mass Index (BMI).

BMI is widely used to establish if someone is a healthy weight for their height and can indicate if a person is at an increased risk for illnesses including stroke, heart disease and diabetes.

Judith said: "People can check their BMI free, and instantly, at www.lighterlife.com/bmi4life, and for every BMI calculation made, LighterLife will donate £1."

Judith is holding an open day on Monday, 11am-5pm, at her Lighterlife premises in Huddersfield Road, Liversedge. People can go along and find out their BMI, establish exactly what it means for them and get practical ideas on how to address any possible problems.
