A TEENAGER was taken to hospital with head and facial injuries after he was subjected to a serious assault in Hightown.
Police say the 14-year-old boy was taken to a derelict mill near Miry Lane at around 4pm on Sunday afternoon by two other boys where the assault took place.

Emergency services were called following the assault and the boy was taken to Dewsbury and District Hospital where he was treated for his injuries before being allowed home.

Police officers cordoned off the scene while they carried out a forensic search in the area.

Two boys, aged 13 and 14, both from Hightown, have been arrested and bailed by police until later this month.

Officers have been making reassurance patrols in the local community following the incident.
