VILLAGERS in Roberttown will find out this week what traffic calming measures are to be introduced there.
Roberttown Residents' Committee will meet representatives from Kirklees Highways on Tuesday.

Chairman of the group Colin Smith said: "This has been going on for some months now. Some people came from highways a while back and we told them what we'd like to see. We know there are some things we won't get, but we're hoping for a crossing in the centre and some speed humps in Roberttown Lane.

"The situation at the minute causes problems, especially for elderly people. There's a lot of cars parked down there and you have to step between them to see what's coming."

Mr Smith added that the village's new housing development had increased traffic flow.

Have your say at the meeting on Tuesday at 7.30pm in the Grange, Church Street.
