A papier maché bishop and a snake-laden mirror!
These were just two of the imaginative exhibits on display at Whitcliffe Mount School’s art exhibition.
The Mayor of Kirklees Coun Martyn Bolt even came to have a look, as the week-long event attracted a huge audience of parents and art-lovers.
Organiser Veronica Cory said: “We were very happy with the way the exhibition went – so many people came to see it – it was superb.
“To say all the artists were just 15 or 16, the standard of the art was very good, and everybody was very impressed, especially the mayor!”
The pieces on show were submissions by this year’s GCSE art students.
Mrs Cory added: “I hope the school continues to put on this exhibition in the future.
It’s a great way for the students to get their artwork seen by lots of people.”
