it’s been an enchanting summer at Gomersal’s Red House Museum which has been packed with fun activities for all the family.

To coincide with the Olympics visitors could travel around the world during the Big Summer Roadshow making paper nesting dolls from Russia, Eiffel Towers from France, North American wool and bead dreamcatchers, and paper kakariki birds from New Zealand.

Also running throughout the holidays has been the Enchanted Garden Activities Gallery with craft activities based on the theme of the beautiful Red House gardens.

A gallery was transformed into a paper garden for children to colour, make and stick fantasy animals and flowers. There were also floral fans and animal rocker greetings cards to make and take home.

The museum has lots of activities planned for the autumn and a Friends of Red House has been set up – anyone interested can obtain details from the museum on 01274 335100 .

Admission to Red House is £2.50 for adults, £1 for children, and £6 for a family.

Annual tickets are also available, costing £6 adults, £2.50 children and £14.50 with unlimited admission to Red House and Oakwell Hall for a whole year.
