A family is celebrating the birth of its youngest member, whose arrival means they now span five generations.
Deacon Hicks was born on August 26 – and the tiny tot’s arrival has left his older relatives feeling as proud as punch.
Deacon’s mum is Kimberley Parkinson, 20. His grandma is Kimberley’s mum Christine Caddon, 41. His great-granddad is Christine’s dad, Stuart Parkinson, 60. And the head of the family is 84-year-old Richard Parkinson, who is Stuart’s dad, and Deacon’s great-great-granddad.
Christine said every member of the family had been born in Heckmondwike and still lived there..
She said: “To reach five generations is quite an achievement because you don’t really hear of it that often.
“His great-great-granddad was over the moon. I am really proud but it’s weird being a grandma!”
Kimberley said little Deacon was very well behaved and was enjoying his food.
She said: “He has been really good so far but I’m sure he will put me to the test when he gets older!”
