brownies had an out of this world sleepover when they set up camp at Eureka!
The seven girls and two leaders from the 2nd Birkenshaw group joined around 150 other children for the event at the children’s museum in Halifax as part of National Science Week.
Guider in charge Ellen Boon said: “They learnt all about poo, snot, saliva, blood and sick in the Grossology workshop, designed their own planets, sampled some genuine astronaut food and had a go at defying gravity with the Cosmologists.
“They also had fun taking part in science experiments, learnt a new song, visited the shop and explored the museum. “Around 11pm they set up camp amongst the exhibits and just after midnight were fast asleep in the Sound Space Garden surrounded by foam flowers and wooden butterflies!”
In the morning they tucked into a continental breakfast in the museum’s cafe, held a quiz on what they had learnt and received a Eureka! badge.
