A woman from Gomersal has completed a rather hair-raising challenge for charity!

Carol Davison had the smoothest top in all of Gomersal after she had her head shaved for Cancer Research UK – raising more than £600 in the process!

Carol, of Shirley Place, is no stranger to charity events, and has taken part in two Race for All events for Martin House Hospice, as well as sponsored walks for the Heart Foundation and the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Speaking after her close shave, Carol said: “It was a lot of fun – there were quite a few people there to watch it!”

“I am quite pleased with the amount I raised, as I got support from quite a lot of people from my work – I just want to thank everyone who sponsored me and bought raffle tickets.

“Everyone has been very generous, and my family have been very supportive. Even customers at my work left donations!

“Some people I have not seen for years came up to me and thought I had been ill myself when they saw my hair was all missing!

“But thankfully my hair is coming through quite nicely now!

“I definitely want to do something like this again next year.”
