Two playgroup staff members have celebrated 25 years of caring for Spen’s children.

Kim North and Sheila Griffiths both joined the playgroup at Liversedge Parish Centre in 1987, and have looked after countless numbers of children since then.

Annette Hoyle organised a party at the parish centre, including a cake to celebrate half a century of working at the group.

Kim said: “It was a lovely celebration.”

“We have looked after hundreds of children.

“Some of the kids that we have looked after in the past are now mums themselves who bring their kids to the group.

“I suppose you could say we have seen Liversedge down the generations.
