People were invited to submit at West Yorkshire themed name to be considered for the new horse, and a great number of suggestions were received from places and landmarks to famous people.

Five names have been selected by the team; Batley, Denby, Digley, Lotherton and Stanley and now those names can be voted for here

The name with the most votes will be given to the new horse.

Police Sergeant Jayne West of West Yorkshire Police Mounted Section said; “We have had a fantastic response from people getting involved with the competition to submit names for our handsome new horse. I am really pleased with all the names, and its been tough to pick just a few of them.

“Any of the five names in the poll would be great for him, but we’d like to hand it back over to the public to make the final decision.”
