A former mayor of Kirklees is to face court next week accused of breaking local government rules.
Coun Jean Calvert (Lab, Ashbrow) is accused of voting in a council budget meeting while in arrears with her own council tax.
The Labour councillor is Cabinet member for Health, Wellbeing and Communities.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “Jean Calvert, 58, from Huddersfield has been summonsed to appear before Bradford magistrates on suspicion of committing offences under the Local Government Act.
“She will appear before Magistrates on August 1.”
