A campaign group opposed to ‘bedroom tax’ protested outside Kirklees Magistrates’ Court in a show of solidarity for two of its members.

Kirklees Axe The Tax supporters stood outside the court building in Huddersfield with placards and banners last Friday morning.

Alan Brooke and Robin Von-Mickwitz were charged with using threatening words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress during a protest at Barclays Bank in Huddersfield on April 6.

Brooke, 60, of Magdale, Holmfirth, and Von-Mickwitz, 22, of Newhouse Road, Sheepridge, both deny the charges.

They had been due to stand trial but the case was adjourned until November 22 because a prosecution witness was unable to attend.
