West Yorkshire Police to be hit by strike action over pay
Police community support officers (PCSOs) and fingerprint experts are among staff who will take 24 hours of strike action on December 22.
Members of Unison and the GMB were balloted on industrial action following a one per cent pay offer.

Hide AdIt will be the first time police staff have taken strike action over pay for 25 years.
Unison general secretary Dave Prentis said: “Police staff have been hit hard by the cost of living crisis.
“Since 2010, two years of pay freeze and a below inflation pay deal last year has seen the value of their pay decline by 13 per cent.
“It is rare for police staff to take industrial action and the strike is a clear sign that they’ve had enough.

Hide Ad“For many of our members it will be the first time they have ever taken industrial action over pay.”
The strike will be followed by action short of a strike from January 5 until February 1 in the form of a ban on voluntary overtime.
