FURIOUS parents will meet tonight as they plan their battle to stop a Council bid to move their school to new premises a mile away.

Kirklees wants to relocate Birkenshaw First School to the site of the current middle school when it becomes a primary in September 2013.

But parents, governors and staff say they will fight the move and will do all they can to stay at their Station Lane premises.

The plan is also a blow to the BBG Academy Trust which had hoped to use the middle school site in Bradford Road for the new Government-backed ‘free’ school which it plans to open.
