PUPILS got to the bones of history when they learned about dinosaurs.

Dinostar dinosaur workshops visited Holy Spirit Catholic Primary School with prehistoric artefacts, fossils and bones.

Items the group brought along to the school in Bath Road, Heckmondwike, included a replica Allosaur skull, a genuine dinosaur egg and a complete Triceratops leg bone.

The workshop gave the pupils the chance to get their hands on the unusual artefacts.

Year three teacher Angela Teale said: “The day was a fantastic success with all the children thoroughly enjoying themselves.

“They not only learned a great deal about dinosaurs from workshop presenter Steve Plater but were able to handle artefacts and also ask lots and lots of questions.”
