A child’s first days at school are a big moment for the whole family and one to be remembered for years to come.
With the autumn term now well under way, year one pupils in classrooms across the district have been settling in and making new friends.
And our photographers have spent the past six weeks visiting them to take class photographs that you’ll treasure for years to come for our School Starters 2014 special.
It will include a picture of the reception classes at each of the participating schools – check with your school administrator if you’ve not yet been told whether your son or daughter’s school is taking part yet.
The pictures, which will all be available to buy as glossy prints, will be published in our October 23 and 24 editions.
Reporter Series editor Hannah Thaxter said: “All parents have special memories of that first day at school for their little ones. This is a wonderful memento of that first class.
“We’ve had great pleasure putting these pages together and seeing the kids smiling - well, mostly smiling - for our cameras and we look forward to covering their school years in our papers and online for years to come.”
To order a print your child’s class photograph, you’ll need the picture reference number in the caption from next week’s picture special.
