a SPEN school has taken delivery of two new classrooms, to accommodate its growing number of pupils.

Due to the abolition of the three-tier education system in the Whitcliffe Mount pyramid, pupils from St Mary’s First School no longer leave in year five to move to middle school.

Headteacher Susan Scott said: “We are very pleased with the new modular classrooms. They are spacious and bright and the children and staff are enjoying being in them.

“The work undertaken over the holidays went smoothly and completed on time for the children’s return to school after the summer.”
