WELLIES were flung and flat caps were worn with pride at Oakwell Hall Country Park’s Yorkshire Day.
It really was all things Yorkshire on Sunday, as guests enjoyed a Yorkshire market, farm animals and displays of traditional farming machinery and entertainment from Vintage Brass, the Kirkburton Rapier Dancers, Manasamitra and a falconry display.
And what Yorkshire Day would be complete without some Yorkshire puddings?
Visitors were invited to pledge their allegiance to the Yorkshire Flag with the help of Batley Town Crier Laurie Gilbert.
Organiser Joanne Catlow said the whole day went “extremely well” with the sun shining down on more than 10,000 people.
“We had lots of local produce and crafts which we are really pleased about and a lot of very good, positive comments from the public who said there was a very friendly and warm atmosphere.
“We’re very grateful to all the volunteers who helped out.”
