OOMPA-LOOMPAS, Batman and Robin, Minnie Mouse and the Super Mario Brothers were among famous faces who appeared at Heckmondwike Grammar School.

Sixth Form pupils dressed as their favourite fictional characters to celebrate their final week in school last week.

Head of sixth form, Neil Renton, said: “The day, involving 270 year 13 students, resulted in many highly creative interpretations of the theme. Amara Patel, who hopes to study law at the London School of Economics, was awarded winner with her interpretation of Marge Simpson.”
