Lovers of football and golf can take part in a new sport that pulls together the best of both worlds.

Woodkirk Valley Country Club will open its new FootGolf course next month.

The sport, which is a hybrid of football and golf, has six holes for players to try their luck with at the Dewsbury Road club.

The course features two par three holes and four which are par four.

It also has an elevated sixth tee which gives the players the chance to get a hole in one.

Organiser Paul Marsden said: “This is a new sport which is currently the fastest growing sport in Europe.

“It’s a hybrid sport, a combination of football and golf.

“It is great fun for all, from a family activity to a competitive game between mates.”

The course will open for people interested in taking a look and having a go on Sunday June 7.

The first 150 customers to visit the club will be given a free pint of Carlsberg by club staff.

Prices start at £5 for six holes, £9 for 12 and £13 for 18.
