Fitness fanatics’ charity challenge

Fundraisers ran, swam and cycled 200 miles to raise money for a children’s charity.

Staff and members from Spen Pool took part in the event to raise cash for Wish Em Well children’s charity.

The which will provide a sterile games room for a boy who is suffering from a brain tumour.

Team members ran laps, swam and rowed in the pool reception all day , and managed to cover 82 miles over their target.

Faye Wadsworth, from the pool, congratulated everyone on taking part. She said a group from the pool’s kettlebell class even completed a run before doing their class!

She said: “A special mention has to go to Lisa Naylor .

“Lisa organised the event and took part in every single aspect. She went above and beyond!

“Rosie White also managed to walk 12 miles in four hours and has raised a lot of money.

“All staff took part and some members of Spenborough Pool and Fitness Complex took part as well.”

The team raised £295 for the charity.
