The Spenborough branch of the Royal British Legion has played its part in Armed Forces week by raising the flag to commemorate British troops past and present.

The ceremony was held in Cleckheaton Memorial Park on Monday.

It included the breaking of the Armed Forces Day flag which will fly in the park until Armed Forces Day tomorrow.

The Deputy Lieutenant of West Yorkshire Gordon Tollefson was the guest of honour and carried out the breaking of the flag.

The ceremony was conducted by the vicar of Cleckheaton, the Rev Brunel James.
