SCHOOLBOYS Ryan Hanson and Ronan Finch have raised £600 for Help for Heroes by running from the Galpharm Stadium to Elland Road.

The football fans set off from the Galpharm, home of Huddersfield Town Football Club, at 8am on Saturday February 26.

They arrived at Elland Road, home of Leeds United Football Club, in just two hours.

Ryan, 14, of White Lee, Heckmondwike, and Ronan, 15, of Birstall, organised the 13-mile run themselves, and registered with the charity before the sponsored event.

Ryan’s mum Fay said: “The families were supporting them all the way.

“Everyone was amazed at how well they kept going and how quickly they completed the run.

“We are very proud of them both.

“We would like to thank those who sponsored them; friends, family and even total strangers.

“It has been astounding how supportive people have been for this worthy cause.”

Donations to the boys, who are both pupils at Bruntcliffe High School, can still be made at www.bmycharity.com/galpharmellandroadrun.
