A school in Spen has been given a ‘good’ Ofsted report, despite only being open for less than one year!
Whitechapel Primary School, on the former site of Whitechapel Middle School, has been awarded the rating after an Ofsted inspection earlier this year. Headteacher Michelle Bouabida said: “We are delighted with the outcome of the Ofsted inspection, it reflects the hard work and commitment of everyone as we have come together as a new school in a short space of time. The inspectors acknowledged the significant impact of the reorganisation process and praised the school in its efforts.”
Ofsted rates schools on a four-point grading scale, with the school’s rating of ‘2’ (good) being one short of the top ‘1’ (excellent) rating. The school moved to the site in September last year after a massive reorganisation of schools in Cleckheaton, which involved merging Whitechapel Middle School with the former Moorend and St Luke’s first schools.
