Gas bottle set alight in Batley arson attack

A gas bottle was set alight in an arson attack in Batley.

The bottle was set on fire outside a house in Surrey Street at around 2am yesterday (Monday) morning.

The home owner put out the fire before it caused any damage.

A number of items were also thrown at the house and were left piled up in the front garden.

Detective Constable Mark Gregory from Dewsbury CID said: “Anyone who may have seen this attempted arson or may have any other information in connection with this can call me on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
