Going the extra mile

COLD custard, jelly baths and trays of gloop all helped to raise £700 for Sport Relief.

Birkenshaw Kindergarten in Old Lane held a week of activities for the charity, including a messy day which the children particulary loved.

Centre manager Catherine Flynn said: ”We’re so proud of how much we have raised and thanks to everyone who supported us.

On Monday we had a book sale and treasure hunt, on Tuesday there was a sponsored walk and teddy bears’ picnic, on Wednesday there was a sports day when parents were invited to take part as well, Thursday was Messy Day with a crazy hat party and on Friday we all wore something red and did activities with a red theme.”
