Paralympian wheelchair sprint double gold medal winner Hannah Cockroft MBE unveiled a plaque to mark the official opening of Gomersal Primary School following a £2m refurbishment programme.

The former Gomersal Middle school building now includes state of the art early years spaces inside and out.

Headteacher David Warbrick said: “The change to a primary school last year meant there wouldn’t be enough room for us.

“This new building has given us all the space we need and children have the benefit of a new art room.

“We were delighted that inspirational wheelchair gold medallist Hannah Cockroft visited to mark our official opening.”
