Health was top of the agenda as the Indian Muslim Welfare Society held its first Ramadan health fair.

The event at the Al-Hikmah Centre, in Track Road, Batley, offered advice to visitors on how to lead healthier lifestyles.

Residents were given information on dieting, healthy eating and nutrition.

Free blood pressure checks were also provided by Kirklees Better Health.

Organiser Amina Bulbulia said: “For the first time we’ve had professionals delivering advice in the community language Urdu.

“It made a big difference as they took part and asked lots of questions.”
