The presentations were made at the club’s 79th annual charter anniversary celebration at Bertie’s in Elland which was attended by 163 Rotarians and guests.

The Fellowship is given for outstanding service in the Rotary movement.

During the celebration, president Bill Stevenson said that Cleckheaton Rotary’s Vision Aid Overseas campaign had already surpassed its target with 80,000 pairs of used spectacles collected.

He also announced that during 2011, a total of £10,000 had been donated to various causes around the Spen Valley, medical goods had been sent to Jubilee Outreach Yorkshire (JOY) and many car loads of used tools and equipment had been sent to the charity Tools for Self Reliance.

l At the club’s Christmas dinner at Cleckheaton Golf Club, Mr Stevenson inducted Andrew Hardill, of Little Gomersal, into Rotary membership.
