High Bank pupils reaped what they had sown, with a little help from a gardening expert and the school cook.

The children grew the veg in the last academic year at an after-school club run by governor Colin Berry.

When they returned after the summer break, they harvested the potatoes and school cook Joanne Armitage served them with the school dinner.

Green beans, carrots and courgettes were used in a year five and six Tudor soup, pottage.
