‘I thinkit’s a brilliantidea’
The government has said allowing drivers 15 minutes on double yellow lines would allow people to park up and pop into a shop.
There are double yellow lines outside Emma Mitchell’s shop, Relish Sandwich Bar, in Daisy Hill, Dewsbury.

Hide AdShe said: “I think it’s a brilliant idea. Spaces are so limited, especially over the busy lunch period – it puts people off coming the town.”
Chairman of Birstall Chamber of Trade Anne Thompson said: “If it wouldn’t impede the flow of traffic then ten to 15 minutes would be an absolute godsend.
“We are blessed with free parking here in Birstall, but in places like Dewsbury you daren’t park for five minutes.”
But Dewsbury Chamber of Trade president Trish Makepeace urged caution. She said: “How will this be policed by the traffic wardens? It could cause chaos.”
