Sporty kids kicked off a new initiative aimed at getting them more fit and healthy.
The Spenborough Co-operative Trust is a collaboration of seven schools which come together to share good practice.
And part of that is sporting events, so with the help of Legacy Sports, based at Spen Valley Sports College, they held an Olympic Challenge.
Shaun Fox from Legacy Sport – which is also the key player in the Great Spen Valley Health Challenge – said: “A few months ago there was a launch for the staff, so now we wanted a launch for the children.
“Around 200 year five students from the feeder schools came to the sports college for the Olympic challenge which was run by Legacy staff and also the Young Leaders from the Sports College.
“We also devised a Trust Triathlon of running, jumping and throwing activities in the other schools as well, so that everybody could get involved.
“It was a massive success, and we also had input from other partners such as Batley Bulldogs and Joe Cooke from PJs Health and Fitness Village.”
